VIJAYAWADA: The President of Gujarat Sahitya Academy, Dr. Vishnu Pandya inaugurated Amaravati Poetic Prism 2021 on Saturday, the 7thand International meeting of multilingual poets organized by the Cultural Center of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA).

Pandya said poetry is the only way to convey the truth that binds people across all barriers. He maintained that such gatherings of poets ignite harmony around the world.

CCVA President, Dr. Tejaswini Yarlagadda, pointed out that the meeting was organized for the seventh time in association with the Central Institute of Indian Languages ​​(CIIL) and the language and culture departments of the AP and Telangana governments. The meeting will reflect the feelings of the poets on various themes.

CCVA CEO Dr. E. Sivanagi Reddy said on the inaugural day on Saturday, seven poetry sessions were held in which 75 Indian and foreign poets recited their poems in different languages ​​of the world. Poets have suggested solutions to various problems facing the world.

The poetry sessions were chaired by poets Pranab Kumar Hazarika, Dr K. Siva Reddy, Vippagunta Ram Manohara, Srikantha Krishna Murthy, Aranya Krishna, Perugu Ramakrishna and Edward Roberts. International poets like Rolf Ishvar Doppenberg were also present and read their poems.

Dr. Papineni Sivasankar, Kendra Sahitya Akademi Prize Laureate and Editor-in-Chief of Amaravati Poetic Prism 2021, in his opening address said that 136 poets representing 27 world languages ​​are participating in the international poetic encounter.
