TechSpace, bp Oman offers SmoothY programming language course for students

Muscat: In partnership with bp Oman, TechSpace organized and delivered courses on the SmoothY programming language for students in classes I to IV.

A total of 201 students benefited from the courses representing 13 schools in 10 governorates of Oman. The courses aimed to teach children the basics of programming.

The lessons also inspired the children to use the new technologies available to carry out their innovative projects and provided them with an enriching environment to develop their skills and potential.

Classes included school visits and taught children and teachers the basics of the SmoothY programming language through written codes. It also helped kids get creative with their projects, which helped them understand the different programming languages ​​available.

Shamsa Al-Rawahi, bp Oman Social Investment Manager, said, “We are proud to empower students in the field of innovation and technology through the courses that have been delivered. The students showed strong abilities and creativity in how they solved the challenges using the programming tools. I am proud to say that out of a total of 1577 projects were completed by the students with almost 4103 challenges solved.

Iman al Rawahi, CEO of TechSpace, added, “The SmoothY programming language courses have achieved the expected results; become a basic course in learning programming. The students of the school have shown exceptional talent through the projects carried out with the SmoothY programming language. All in all, we are very proud of the standards reached by the little programmers for children.

It should be noted that TechSpace is an Omani foundation specializing in the development of innovative and programming skills in young children aged 6 to 16, by offering training workshops and courses on different subjects and fields on the latest technologies and the fourth industrial revolution.
