Viet Thanh Nguyen, Pulitzer Prize winner for his novel “The Sympathizer”, will deliver the opening speech at the WIDA eConference 2021 on Thursday, October 14 from 10 am to 11 am (central time). During his remarks, Nguyen will talk about his experience as a refugee in America and his work advocating for Asian Americans in the Pacific Islands (AAPI).
âIt is an incredible honor that Viet Thanh Nguyen joins the WIDA 2021 eConference and shares his powerful story with attendees,â said Tim Boals, Founder and Director of WIDA. âSince the theme of the conference is ‘Reimagining Opportunities and Access for Multilingual Learners’, it is more important than ever to highlight Viet’s experiences and his advocacy work within the AAPI community. “
