Eisai strengthens brain health assessment in Asia

Australian company Cogstate, through its global business partner Eisai, announced that Cogstate technology will be marketed directly to consumers in Taiwan and Hong Kong through its Taiwanese subsidiary Eisai Taiwan Inc. and its Hong Kong subsidiary Eisai (Hong Kong) Co. first version of Cogstate technology in the Asian region (excluding Japan). A similar launch in other countries, including Singapore, is expected shortly.

Early efforts to sell the product, under the CogMate brand, will initially target municipalities and businesses.

CogMate is a multilingual global version of NouKNOW®, a digital tool (non-medical device) for self-assessment of brain performance, developed and distributed by Eisai using the Cogstate Brief BatteryTM (CBB) cognitive function test created by Cogstate . For the Asian region, CogMate is equipped with multi-language functions such as Chinese (Traditional Chinese) and English. CogMate can be deployed via PC, tablet or smartphone.

CogMate is designed to enable regular brain health assessments. CogMate provides immediate results – Brain Performance Index (BPI) measures aspects of cognition such as memory and decision-making, and results are provided in conjunction with lifestyle guidance to maintain brain performance .

Given the rapid aging of the population in Asia, the total number of people with dementia in the region is expected to continue to increase.
